Good Morning! Happy New Year!
You know you are getting old when you don’t recognize any of the artists playing except for “Hanna Montana” on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. And to top it all off, I rang in the new year by promptly going to bed right after the ball hit 2008.
On the bright side, I got my full 8 hours of sleep, and I was able to begin my list of 52 books I’m going to read for 2008. ;) Plus, with the help of my copy of James Beard’s cookbook, I've discovered the secret to perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs:
- First, bring water to boil.
- Second, gently lower eggs into the pot with a spoon.
- Let the eggs boil for 12 minutes, then immediately remove the pot from the heat, and place it under running cold water until the eggs are cool to the touch.
- Ideally, hard boiled eggs are best after they are chilled in the refridgerator, but eating them while they’re still warm to the touch is good too. ;)
