R-E-S-P-E-C-T, find out what it means to me.

I came across this article at Pimpwiz.com, and I find it disturbing.

The author takes the pov that a woman slapping a man in public on his birthday is disrespectful to the man.  The author also feels that the man has no self respect for letting the woman hit him in public, and for leaving his own party with her.  But the thing is, we don’t know the whole story, only what was observed.  Maybe she is the dominant personality in this relationship, maybe she isn’t. Maybe she had a good reason to slap him, maybe she didn’t.  Maybe he is the dominant personality to this relationship, maybe he isn’t.  Maybe he did something that he deserved the slap, maybe he didn’t.

Self respect is about being yourself despite what others may think. Perpetuating the hate is just plain wrong.
